Why throw a perfectly good thong I hear you ask? Having been a participant in this event for the last three years myself  I can vouch that it is not only a seriously funny family fun event, it is also very competitive amongst the ages of competitors all vying for the major prize in each division, that being a trophy thong to display proudly to your mates and family all year long for throwing a good ol’ plugger the longest distance on the day.

The event attracts quite a crowd each year with a few good hearted heckles from supportive family or mates from the sidelines and will run between 10am and midday at this years event.thong trophies

Don’t forget of course that the market day also offers a range of goodies from boot and table sales, some good tucker is always available from the volunteers manning the BBQ and the Home Brew Judging Competition.

On a more serious note and as the warmer weather increases, the Pindimar – Tea Gardens Rural Fire Service members will be on hand to offer fire safety advice and display the fire fighting units that help keep the community safe. If you’ve ever considered joining the Rural Fire Service, members will also be able to offer advice on how to apply and fill you in on training days and station locations.RFS
