Over sixteen community organisations in the local area received funding from the State Governments Community Building Partnership Program during the past 12 months.
This funding allowed many improvements to facilities in the Bulahdelah area as well as major resources for organisations.
This included the development of Lion’s Park, construction of the jetty, picnic shelters and public toilets, upgrade of the Main Street, Scout Hall, Memorial Hall and Showground Pavilions.
Bulahdelah Preschool Director, Mrs Gai Tooze, said through the government funding grants the preschool was able to upgrade its facilities and purchase much needed equipment for the centre.
This included softfall for the outdoor play area, the construction of an amphitheatre and upgrade to play equipment and bathrooms.
“Without the additional funding we would not be able to offer the services we do,” Mrs Tooze said.
State Member for Myall Lakes, Mr Steve Bromhead, said that funding grants not only help many organisations but also benefits the community as a whole.
“It is always good to help local organisations out,” Mr Bromhead said.
Mr Bromhead said additional grants would be available in the next round of funding, which takes place in July.
