The Myall Coast Mudcrabs Rugby Union side were unfortunately beaten by Forster Dolphins at Myall Park last Saturday.
Once again the Mudcrabs got off to a solid start in the first half scoring the first try into a stiff south westerly gale, however as the first half culminated having to defend there own line for long periods, Forster scored a late try to lead at the break by 12 points to seven.
Myall Coast failed to clear the ball downfield
The second half saw the Mudcrabs with the wind behind them and the opportunity to play the game in Forster’s half but this did not eventuate as the Mudcrabs failed to clear the ball downfield
and too often saw long passes and scrappy ball fail to go to hand.
The final score saw a 4-try bonus win to Forster who stated that it was one of their hardest of this season. Final score was 28 points to 7.
For the Mudcrabs Daniel Dorante stood out and scored a great opportunists try, as did James Farmer who worked hard before leaving the field with an unfortunate injury.
In the backs Michael Olivera was dangerous in attack and was well supported by Patrick Laver and Nathan Colver from Full back.
It should be noted that Seamus Smith a foundation member of the Mudcrabs in 2011 played his last game with the Mudcrabs as he is off travelling and he will be missed by this side.
Next week the Mudcrabs are playing Wallamba at Nabiac for what will be a fantastic game to see.
If you are looking for a great day out travel the short trip north to Nabiac, for lunch and watch the Mudcrabs in their endeavour to clinch a fourth place semi final place, will make for a great day at the football.
