Myall Coast Mudcrabs beat Manning for their final home game of the season

THE Myall Coast Mudcrabs had a strong hard fought win in last Saturday’s Sponsors Day match against Manning who are currently running second on the Lower Mid North Coast competition table.

Although the match failed to gain any great heights, it was strongly contested in the difficult conditions of a wet ground and continued rain during the match.Myall Coast Muddies Final Game 2014 Myall Coast Mudcrabs, through Avril Foster, kicked a penalty goal to lead 3-0 at the break. The second half opened with some more open play with both teams wasting opportunities through poor passing or off-loads to score tries. It was the Mudcrabs, through Ashley Rushby, who managed to break the defence to score next to the posts which was converted for a 10-0 lead. The Mudcrabs continued to dig deep and defended well before Manning threatened and scored a try to make it 10-5. A late penalty goal and some good defence saw the Mudcrabs home 13 points to 5. For the Mudcrabs, James Farmer, Chris Sando, Chris Kirby, Ben Foxen and James Fitzpatrick worked hard all day whilst the backs Ashley Rushby, Michael Oliviera and Matt Reynolds all defended well.
