Daphne Motum from the club said, “It was the best ever, with excellent mullet fillets supplied by Karen from the Tea Gardens Co-op fish shop.”
The outing was moved to Violet Hill from Shelley Beach because of the ferocious weather.

“Our numbers were down due in part to the inclement weather and some members choosing not to attend even though they were in the area which was disappointing as the committee still had to cater and set up the marquee and the deep fryers etc. in the rain,” Ms Motum told Myall Coast News.
“A further challenge presented itself due to most of our gas burners, regulators and hoses being stolen at Tamboy and if not for the ingenuity of some of our clever members, the fish and chips would have had to be cancelled,” she said.
The Aquatic Club’s next outing is to be held at Bulahdelah on 23 and 24 May.
