Bulahdelah Chamber of Commerce and Tourism held their first meeting for 2016 last week, with plans underway for a busy and productive year.
With the promotion of tourism a major focus, the Bulahdelah website will undergo an upgrade and transformation. This will include updating information, images and links to businesses and community organisations.
A Quick Response (QR) code has also been generated for the website.
As part of the tourism focus, a new series of postcards and stickers featuring images of the local area is being developed by members of the Chamber and will be available from businesses shortly.
Facilities for visitors are also being upgraded with construction set to commence on a picnic shelter adjacent to the Visitor Information Centre in the coming weeks.
This project has been funded through a grant received from the State Government’s Community Building Partnership Program.
The Chamber has received confirmation from Taree Council indicating the proposed Nabiac Service Centre has been approved.
This will have significant implications for Bulahdelah which will be discussed at future meetings.
Other projects scheduled for the year include lighting for Stroud Street, upgrade of lighting at the sporting precinct, development of a Super Chamber and review of the town plan.
The next meeting of the Bulahdelah Chamber of Commerce and Tourism will be held on 8 March at the Bulahdelah Visitor Information Centre at 7pm.
