A fundraiser event for cancer research was held at the Tea Gardens Waterfront Hotel, with ladies attired in all their “BLING”.
On arrival, they were treated to a glass of champagne or a cocktail, followed throughout the night to a variety of delicious finger food.
Noted jeweller Roger Carey showcased a display of jewellery.
He offered a 50% on every article sold as well as donating a substantial sum of money to our cause.
Interested ladies were able to discuss ideas, designs, restoration and have their existing jewellery valued.
John Rumble of First National Real Estate was on hand to take charge of our Tombola Raffle.
Numerous, wonderful prizes were up for grabs, all donated by our generous Business Community, from both sides of the river, the Industrial Estate and Myall Quays.
He then went on to successfully auction a number of larger prizes, one of which was a night stay at the Novotel at Darling Harbour, a superior room overlooking the water, breakfast included.
John did a marvellous job to keep us in check. Sixty five excited ladies can sometimes be overwhelming. Not for John. The results speaks for itself.
Lee Anderson and her Staff at the Tea Gardens Hotel were a wonderful support, ensuring that the atmosphere and food complemented the event.
Lee was most generous in donating for every ticket sold, five dollars would go to our cause and she also donated $5 from every ticket sold from the show “Dead Man Talking”.
We are truly blessed to have such caring, generous business people in our Community, so on behalf of all the Lioness’s I would like to express our “thanks”, and also to all our Club Members who supported the event as well as all the beautiful ladies of our Community.
Not only did we enjoy a night of fun and friendship, we successfully raised just over $3000 for our Cancer Research.
Thanks again for your support
