Peter Lewis is set for Myall U3A Art Show at Hawks Nest

EXHIBITING annually for the last two decades the well regarded Myall U3A Art Show opens this year on 4th and 5th of October. The long weekend.Myall U3A Art Show with Peter Lewis

The event, is scheduled to be jam packed with artworks, artists, hints and tips, raffles and a renowned special guest artist.

Newcastle Herald’s cartoonist, Peter Lewis will be at this year’s show.

Mr Lewis has extraordinary talent and will be demonstrating his art on Saturday, 4th from 10:30am.

Lewis, born in Mungindi, Australia, and later a resident of Newcastle, has a Diploma of Fine Art.

He has worked with the NewMet Ballet Company as a designer for several years.

Also has had solo exhibitions of paintings at the Morpeth Gallery in 1982 and 1985.

You may not know, but Peter also worked as a pizza cook, labourer, taxi driver, commercial artist, and support ballet dancer.

Peter began work at The Newcastle Herald in 1986 as the editorial cartoonist and has been there ever since.

Other activities include portraiture, illustration, artwork for websites, being a husband to Julie Lewis and a father/stepfather to six young women.

Also featuing at the Art show are local artists, who are members of the Myall U3A Art Workshop.

On show, will be pictures of oil, watercolour, acrylic, charcoal and bark paintings.

Entry is free and is located at the Hawks Nest Community Hall starting at 9am.
