THE Myall Coast Mudcrabs Rugby Union side were beaten 27-11 in a hard fought encounter by Gloucester “Cockies” on a greasy Gloucester park last Saturday.
Once again the Mudcrabs showed spirit in the first half but lack of possession and a one-sided penalty count did the Muddies no favours.
The second half became a dour struggle as rain intensified causing scrappy ball handling.
Throughout the season, the lack of size and height has unfortunately been a contributing factor to the loss of games.
Outstanding players in the match were Nathan Colver and Michael Oliviera in the backline with Nathan scoring a well needed fifty metre try.
In the forwards, James Farmer put in a strong, whole hearted effort which has been displayed all season, ably supported by outside
back, now forward, Chris Kirby.
Last Saturday’s loss unfortunately ends the season for the Muddies semi-final chances.
This Saturday the Muddies will play their last home game against Manning at Myall Park, Hawks Nest with kick-off at 3.00pm.
This match will also be a great day for the sponsors as well as a Pink Day with all funds raised going to Breast Cancer Research.
The canteen will be open for refreshments and the Lions Club Trailer will supply hot food for hungry supporters.
Come along in numbers this Saturday to support the Mudcrabs last home game and the worthwhile Pink Day Celebrations.
