Lady, 26, dies in car crash at Hexham NSW

A report will be prepared for the Coroner following a single-vehicle crash at Hexham.

About 2.30pm today (Tuesday 2 September 2014), a 26-year-old woman was driving along the New England Highway, underneath the Hexham Bridge.

Police have been told her Nissan Pulsar crossed onto the wrong side of the road, before leaving the roadway and hitting a concrete barrier.

Emergency services arrived a short time later and the woman was removed from the wreckage, but was pronounced deceased upon arrival at John Hunter Hospital.

Officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
