The Bulahdelah Tennis Club ladies’ grand final this year proved that tennis is a game for all ages and all conditions.
One of the original members of the winning team, 15 year old Tamara Gooch, badly hurt her wrist some weeks ago playing soccer and 78 year old Rosie Newton completed the competition for her.
Another member of the team, Brooke Mayan, is expecting a child, but was determined to finish the competition.
Well done to all in the Grand Final!
The winning team of Terri Burrows, Fay Morgan, Brooke Mayan and Rosie Newton, claimed victory 4 sets to 2.
The runners-up were Bernadette Newton, Del Montague, Alisha Smith and Tara Price.
President of the Club, Meredyth Rae said, “Our next night competitions will begin mid February, but in the meantime there is social tennis every Tuesday night from 7 – 9pm.”
“Just come and play! The cost is just $4 per night,” she said.
