Police are investigating after a baby was attacked by the family dog at Campbelltown this morning.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the Hoddle Avenue home about 3.30am (Monday 22 June 2015), after the seven-day-old girl was bitten on the face by the family’s Alaskan Malamute.
She was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for treatment to facial wounds before being taken to The Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police from Campbelltown Local Area Command have been told the child was sleeping at the end of the parent’s bed in a basinet when the attack occurred.
Rangers from Campbelltown City Council will be contacted in relation to the dog.
Investigations continue.
