Myall Masters open water swim to kick off the season

The 2014 Myall Masters Swimming season has started on a high note with an open water swim on Myall Lake over a 500 metre course on Sunday 12th October which was very well received by all competitors who are keen to repeat this swim during the season.Leon Bobako, Chris Mobbs, Christine Sefton, Peter King and Chris Lock

Opening night on Monday 13th October saw the weather hold for a comfortable water temperature of 22 degrees in Tea Gardens pool where nearly 30 swimmers turned up for training with a number of new faces attending their first night.

The coaching this season promises to be of a very high standard with the coaches presenting a lot of varied programmes for all strokes and standards.

In other news Myall Masters Swimming Club will have five swimmers competing in the upcoming short course championships at Woy Woy.

Led by head coach Leon Bobako, swimmers Chris Mobbs together with Rockhampton National Championships swimmers Christine Sefton, Peter King and Chris Lock, be representing Myall Masters over the two day event.

Chris Lock competed last weekend at Warringah Aquatic Centre at the branch meet in the 70-74 age group winning backstroke events in 25 and 50 metres and second in the 100 metres.

This event has been a great warm up for him going into the state championships and the Pan Pac games to be held at Southport Queensland in early November.

Myall Masters Swimming Club meets every Monday at Tea Gardens Pool at 5.30pm.
